Individual counseling is like going to the gym with a personal trainer. Initially, it can be intimidating. There is often the fear of being judged or of being vulnerable. However, once you get there, you start to feel more comfortable. Little by little you start to build your emotional muscles. The next couple of days after your session, you may feel uncomfortable. This is normal and it should pass. As you work through your issues each week, you will notice that your emotional muscles are getting stronger and you are able to handle more.
